@everyone
:public_address_loudspeaker: Hi everyone,
We're launching D-Robotics Frontier, a technical series where we share our latest work and engineering progress across Embodied AI, world models, robot learning, and intelligent robotics.:party_popper:
The goal is to open up the technical work behind what we're building and create a space for deeper discussion with the robotics community.
**For our first session,** we'll take a deep dive into **Uranus**, **our data-driven robot simulation platform built around an interactive world model.**
:calendar: October 15
:clock_face_ten_oclock: 20:00 GMT+8
:studio_microphone: D-Robotics Frontier #01: Uranus
:edit: registration: https://luma.com/tmtu4uge

Real-robot validation is costly and difficult to reproduce, while traditional physics-based simulation often requires substantial modeling effort and still faces the sim-to-real gap. Uranus explores a different approach: using a joint-trajectory-conditioned autoregressive diffusion world model to generate future multi-view observations from real robot data.
In the talk, we'll cover the full system, including:
- 3,300+ hours of real robot data curation and calibration recovery
- Causal training and distillation of a 1.3B-parameter world model
- Serving infrastructure reaching 24 FPS
- Long-horizon consistency and closed-loop policy evaluation
- Cross-embodiment generalization across multiple robot platforms
- Where the approach still breaks and what we've learned from those limitations

**We'll also share the code, model weights, and data as open source.**

If you're working on robot simulation, robot learning, world models, or embodied AI, we'd be glad to have you join the discussion.

@everyone
:party_popper: Summer is past, winter on the way; So it's time to announce the **RDK Challenge 2026 Winter**! :snowflake: :robot:
Registration is **OPEN NOW**

Two quick notes, depending on who you are :point_down:

:adult: :wrench: Returning builders (2026 Summer alumni)
Welcome back. You already have the toolchain and the muscle memory. Point your previous project at this season's task guide and you are a week ahead of the field. Iterate the robot you shipped in Summer, or go bigger - both count. Grab your alumni role below if you haven't yet.

:seedling: First-timers
Some technical background helps - and that's what the community is for. Got a robot dream? Bring it. Free bootcamp, regular meetups, webinars and community mentors @Shockley , @RustedFriend (Isaac), @Richard_muhi and @Robostadion Kazuki Murata have you covered, and finishing all three stages earns a full board rebate. Dream big - we'll help you build it.

For everything you need - rules, task guide, registration, check this repo:

We've witnessed so many fabulous robot projects during the summer, now it's your turn to surprise the world! :party_popper:

Powered by the D-Robotics RDK dev kit, builders at Hack The North
created projects in just 36 hours!
Meet Goostriever, a voice-controlled retrieval robot built by @zrax1n
team.

:speech_balloon: "Bring me my bottle."
:robot: So they built a robot that can actually do it.
Give it a command. It identifies the right object, plans a route around the room, drives over, picks it up, and brings it back.

Under the hood: vision, navigation, an LLM planner, and an RDK S100 running ACT inference locally for the grasping action.

Built by YoshiBoiy's team Hack The North, Lloyd brings AI into the world of insurance, tackling a very different kind of real-world challenge.

The project combines AI-assisted underwriting, risk analysis, evidence, investigation, and privacy-aware document processing into one workflow. The RDK X5 performs local OCR, sensitive-field detection, redaction, and tokenization.
