Greetings, coming from Engineering Insiders and is hoping to use the RDK X5 AI Developer Kit to build a mobile AI Rover Assistant for school and home! It would combine real-time computer vision, voice control, and autonomous navigation.

. On campus, it could follow students, carry supplies, and detect obstacles.

. At home, it could help monitor rooms, act as a voice-controlled assistant, or check on animals using AI-powered vision.

Because of its powerful AI capabilities and camera support, the RDK X5 is perfect for those projects I have been waiting to do. This would be a huge step in my robotics journey as an engineering student.

I would like to use the D-Robotics RDK X5 to detect theft in my local area with following features:
1. Face/human body recognition.
2. Face sketching into form of data and storing them with time, and date in database.
3. Attach a one layer laser barrier to easily detect housebreak in night time, and add sirens and emergency warning :warning_sign: to inform locals.

Hi, I'm facing an issue with my RDK X5 module. Initially, it was powering on but there was no display output. I powered it on and off about three to four times; it powered up each time but still didn't display anything. However, when I powered it on again (around the fourth time), smoke came out of the module. I immediately turned it off and opened the cover to inspect the PCB. I found that a diode on the backside (underside) of the PCB, located below the HDMI connector, appears to be damaged. Could you please advise why this might have happened and share the diode's part number or specifications so I can replace it and try to restore the module? Hey guys, I need some help with my RDK X5 setup.

I've installed Ubuntu 22.04 and the system detects "/dev/dri" (card0, renderD128), but OpenGL is still using "llvmpipe" (CPU rendering). Also, "es2_info" fails with EGL errors, and there are no Mali/EGL libraries present.

From debugging, it looks like the kernel GPU driver is loaded, but the userspace GPU stack (EGL/OpenGL drivers) is missing. So hardware acceleration isn't working.

Has anyone successfully enabled GPU acceleration on the RDK X5 from Think Robotics? Do I need a specific BSP/vendor image, or is there a way to install the required GPU libraries manually?

Any guidance or links would really help

Try to check the bios. It's sometime here. And try to update to 24.04
