Hey, community! I'm curious to know which YouTubers you watch the most in the fields of embedded technology, robotics, and single - board computers.

Hi Community,
Has anyone participated in the Maker Faire before? Do you have a prototype, project or workshop? Maker Faire Rome 2025 is now recruiting exhibitors.

If you are interested in signing up, please click the link for details:fullwidth_colon:https://makezine.com/article/maker-news/calling-all-makers-to-maker-faire-rome-2025/

For makers based in Europe, if you can develop projects using the **RDK **and exhibit at Maker Faire, we are interested in funding your trip to Rome for the exhibition. Welcome to contact us:fullwidth_exclamation_mark:

@everyone
Hi everyone,

To help improve the experience of using the RDK development board and to better resolve package source issues, we'd like to ask for your help with a quick test.

Please run the following command:

curl -s https://ipapi.co/json | jq

Then, kindly share the output along with your actual country (just in case there's a mismatch).

Your feedback is greatly appreciated-thank you for your support!

Hi Seth, are there particular fields you're interested in? This seems like a fair amount of output and I'm not sure if there's anything sensitive in here.

GB for me, and I live in England! If it helps, this command gives a little more detail: `curl -s https://ipapi.co/json | jq '{country, country_name, region}'`
For me, that gives:
```
{
"country": "GB",
"country_name": "United Kingdom",
"region": "England"
}
```

Would love to get a project done with the new amazing board RDK X5:face_with_party_horn_and_party_hat:
As a member of the Ingegno Makerspace Drongen we'll be using this board for the next MakerFaireGent racing challenge. Once we get it up and running it will be a great way to show the robotics capability on walking, dancing and more amazing interaction.
Great opportunity to get a change to win this board:thank_you::mechanical_arm::four_leaf_clover::four_leaf_clover:

I would love to get the X5 to learn and tinker with YOLO. Maybe an object-sorting game for a toddler :)

I came from Engineering Insiders! I plan to use the RDKX5 to learn the process of how to become a robotics engineer and create a target shooting robot that uses foam darts

Hi, Coming from Engineering Insiders! I plan to use the RDKX5 to make a 6 DoF arm and use a camera and RL to learn how to manipulate objects it wasn't explicitly trained on. This will be useful for handling a wide variety of objects without having to manually train it on every individual object it encounters.

Hey hey hey im coming from engineering insiders and this is what I would use the package for I would use the package to help me learn and make the different parts of my work assistant, like computer vision and navigation, and rpbotic arm and hosting an llm, then combine them all together to make a servo skull, little by little and project by project, each time trying to make it more efficient and compact and stable and speed, might need to buy more parts buuuttt the dev kit is a start !:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :wacko:

I'm coming from the Engineering Insiders! I plan to use the RXDKX5 to create tiny robots that work collectively or in groups to complete a specific task; with each correction the errors made by the order.

Hi, im coming from the engineering insiders youtube.
I plant to use the RDK-X5 to work on my dream project of making an autonomous racing robot using ROS2 just like the F1tenth racecar. The vision module combined with the dev board would be a great combination for this project.

I plan to use the RDK X5 AI Developer Kit to build a ROS-powered robotic arm featuring:
:bullet: a vision camera for precise object detection
:bullet: a Qwiic ToF Imager (VL53L5CX) for real-time distance sensing
The goal is to create a smart pick-and-place robot capable of identifying objects, measuring their position and size, and gently grasping them without causing damage.
The Raspberry Pi doesn't meet the performance requirements for this project, which is why I'm turning to the RDK X5(10 tops).
