Pascal you don't understand what we are talking about... For those tiny robots we don't talk about onboard camera... One camera with a raspberry pi can provide an external video feedback for those tiny bots.

I understand, but look this :

Make your own raspberry robot, control it over the internet in FPV mode with super low latency and securely share access on it to your friends with Vigibot.com! You are welcome to test our robots now!

Yes camera is cheap and small but what hardware should we add to have them working on vigibot ? And what latency would we get?

expensive and like radiobot
but after the ground station, each robot cost cheaper than Minus !
robot = arduino + RF receiver + this camera
and you get a (bit) better range than wifi
One robot on vigibit with data broadcast to all robot, and multiple camera selector
this is a new way for research : a 5.8GHz RF video receiver with integrated capture & TBC working on a PI 4

i use those fpv cameras on my multicopters :)
so i couldn't just use a cheap 5.8G downlink receiver connected to a easyCAP usb adaptor?

easyCAP is Time base sensitive, the driver kernel module crash when there is RF noise

try for reliability at maximum range
just launch capture on a Linux computer, go out of range / in range / out of range -> crash
if there is no crash -> this is a new solution for vigibot

but for deinterlace a computer is better, the PI 4 is overloaded
there is hardware deinterlacer like I use on my "Astro" robot with the B/W sensitive camera
I must try the reliability with this one. Cost about 150$ for the capture card. This is not a EasyCAP clone
I don't know if there is an time base correction inside it
A TCB add 1/2 frames more latency....

there's also 5.8G USB receivers for android phones. you think they'd be different and not crash a pi?

EasyCAP....
you must test....
A one day testing @ maximum range is good
I do this EasyCAP test on the old-old stable Linux Jessie
Now we must test the Buster driver...
no crash -> I can vigibot it
Put it on a PI 4 and I configure for video....

such fpv support could be an interesting optional extension for tiny robots.

not dangerous, fun, crashproof
perfect for vigibot
(but about 8min battery life)

Yes but a minus would bring them back on a charging station ;)

that's manufacturers specification! it's one of the lowest yes.
it's quite powerful with brushless motors with such a tiny size
