The INA module has only a shunt resistor between V+ and V-. If you connect them to Vbat+ and Vbat-, you create a short circuit. The Battery over current protection kicks in and disconnects the battery.
Do you understand? INA V+ and V- are a very low Ohm resistance.
You are using the INA as if you want to measure Voltage. But it's designed to measure Current, which has to be connected in-line with the load, not + to -.
No
Vin+ and Vin- are a current meter ONLY.
From the electricity's point of view, the INA Vin+ to Vin- are a (nearly) direct connection. Like a wire. (Almost) no resistance.
If you connect the battery you short the battery.
This image shows how measuring voltage and current has to be done differently.
Ok, what you wrote is not wrong. apologies i missed it.
Hmm how can i explain it..
Can you identify all of these pins?:
Battery
Vbat+
Vbat-
UPS
[UPS]Vbat+
[UPS]Vbat-
Like this?
Not quite
And don't worry, i remember how 15 years ago i blew up a current meter by connecting it to a bettery + and -. I mean i made the exact same mistake. My meter made *bang* xD
Wait you don't have an UPS. i forgot.
Where does you battery + go to? Do you have a photo?
That's awesome
