yes or so
how would you get the feed to the pi and then to vigi

It would probably only work if the camera supports an open (not proprietary) stream protocol like `rtmp` or `rtsp`.
You could grab that feed from the pi with `ffmpeg` and convert it to the video format Vigibot expects.
Each of those parts will add considerable latency, i estimate this would break the real time experience. :/

Tests so far:
A brand new 1S2P: no change
On low battery (3.5V) i can make it crash without the 4G stick.
Tried to power the 4G stick from USB instead 5V rail. 4G stick doesn't start.

Observation Voltage on Vigibot UI:
1) Full on charger shows 4.2V, 0A
2) i unplug it: drops to 3.9V, -0.9A
3) sporadic pulses: drops to 3.6V, -1.8A
Very similar voltage differences with the new 1S2P.

Power led is only rarely on.

Interpretation:
drops to 3.6V on a full charge is not good. -> resistance too high.

Next step:
Measure 5V rail Voltage.
Maybe solder the battery wires onto the UPS.

I think i figured it out.

The battery uses the VERY thin dupont jumper cables.

Website showed voltage drops of 0.3V, my DMM showed drops of 0.6V (!). However, neither is accurate since they're not designed for short impulses. In German there's a saying "Wer misst misst Mist", it means "Who measures, measures shit".
only an oscilloscope would show the real voltage drop..

Anyway, i removed the plug and soldered the battery cables onto the UPS, this seems to reduce the voltage drops from driving from -0.3V to -0.2V.

Now it doesn't crash after running for 4h 40min on battery. The battery is empty after ~5h 40min.

It would be best to replace the battery cables with larger diameter cables.
I can be mistaken since a brand new 1S2P didn't make much of a difference..

I changed connectors on next board . I use JST VH now

it also looks like the battery pack has a single small, probably 3A PCM, so @Garfield2142 's theory could be correct too.

Another observation, it's not a problem but fascinating:
When charging with a long 4m or 2m USB cable, i can crash the robot when driving. Probably because the powerpath has the battery disconnected, and the long USB cable cannot deliver the peak currents. @Mike118

Yes, when charging the power path disconnect the battery ...
Is it a battery pack I provided ??? If yes I have a supplier issue ...

The battery pack is from someplace else.
I replaced it now with a pack from robot-maker, which have thicker cables.

Now the next problem:
It charges too slowly.
VigiUPS v2, IP2312 charge module supports 5V, 3A max.

USB Unplugged, the INA219 shows -1.2A (@3.5V).

Charging with a small Samsung usb charger i use for other robots too, using the magnetic round 2-pin or flat 4-pin: INA219 shows 0A. Sometimes +0.3A.
USB current meter shows ca. 0.7A (@5V) (which is about equivalent to the robot power consumption, without charging).

If i switch to a non magnetic USB cable and try stronger chargers, i can achieve a charge current of ca 0.3-0.7A @3.5V INA219, rsp 1-1.3A @5V USB. this would take 10-20 hours to charge the 7Ah battery...
The USB voltage depends on charger type, the slow charging ones have ca 4.9V. the fastest charging one 5.15V.

I don't understand why it's not charging faster. Broken IP2312? Ideas?

When you charge the robot powered on the charger provide power supply tonrhevraspberry pi and provide some additionnal current to charge the battery... if charger provide 3A , 1.2a will be used to power the robot and 1.8 à will be used to charge the battery... but charger provide less than 3A and there are losses on long cables with magnetic connector...

Put the robot to sleep when charging helps to charge faster ...

Charger with higher voltage have less losses in the wires/ connectors

To help charge faster we should use a smart charger allowing to charge at higher voltage. I tried to add that in the last design, but it was not tested at full capacity ... I have too many projects in parallel and I don't manage to spend enough time on this new minus board right now...

Regarding the new vigi design, i would be very happy to test and work on it.
Because the geekworm v3 ups is no longer available, one Botkins Maker bought an untested UPS, and i gave my spare geekworm v2 ups to another maker. From now on until the vigi design is ready, i do not know if makers can even build a robot anymore. So this is one of the biggest blockages we have.
PD or QC higher voltages would be awesome.

Regarding the charging problem. 2 chargers can deliver 5V, 6.25A, but it's not being used. I think the IP2312 is adaptive, when it observes a Vin drop, it will reduce Current, because it thinks the charger has reached its maximum current delivery capabilities. But then i don't understand why even with non-magnetic cables it still doesn't really charge..

La taille d'un Minus ? (= Un raspberry sur des chenilles )
La taille d'une feuille de papier A4 ? Entre les deux ? Plus grand ?
