Arimidex Pill Treat Breast Cancer In Women After Menopause. Some breast cancers are made to grow faster by a natural hormone called estrogen. Arimidex works by blocking the enzyme aromatase, which turns the hormone androgen into small amounts of estrogen in the body. This means less estrogen is available to stimulate the growth or hormone receptor-positive breast cancer cells.
Arimidex 1 mg Tablet is used as a first-line treatment for breast cancer that has spread within the breast or to other parts of the body in women who have attained menopause. It is also used to treat advanced breast cancer that has worsened even after Tamoxifen treatment (a medicine used to treat breast cancer).
