you can enable "DEBUG" inside hardware configuration panel and give the log of the crash

can I use a pi zero or something with a telemetry 440MHz radio that I can talk to, then tell that to send a signal through its GPIO, to another pi and tell that pi to reboot? reason is I've had some issues before where lockups can occur and this pi is being used for an outdoor robot where it would be extremely hard to recover if it were to crash in my case.

perhaps pi have a watchdog that can be activated,
or build a hardware watchdog out of any arduino and a gpio that your pi has to toggle every minute or it gets reset,
or a 433MHz receiver switch that you control with one of those cheap 2 button mini remotes,
but, the best way is solving your crashs.

i do like your idea of the audrino watchdog timer, that seems like a better and cheaper solution.

or with the Arduino, you can use the Vigibot serial example code. it sends a keep alive frame every 10s. wouldn't be compatible with opencv if I'm not mistaken
Icecream's TTS didn't work since months.
(then i ran apt upgrade then it didn't even boot anymore and the card was unreadable)
since the fresh install on a new SD, the TTS works again. it surprised me. corrupt data can apparently have strange symptoms...
I'm now convinced opencv, battery voltage reading problems and pi crashes on pancake and CakeOnIce to also be data corruption..
