@OdorousWo1f do you plan to fully charge it to 4.2V/cell?

yes
i'm making a 6s1p battery with LG MJ1's as i will never consume more than 10a at anytime, and capacity and price is good for me.
with a maximum of a 5a load, (motor of my robot at full load, lights, and everything else) it will last about 4 hours at the absolute minimum.
https://www.amazon.c...H0U4TGVUQ&psc=1 here's the balancer + bms that I am thinking of using.
it'll support to 10s
(in case I ever need to expand)

the 4 hours with a 18650 6s1p pack doesn't sound right.

18650 are usually below 3Ah.

S multiplies Voltage [V];
P multiplies Capacity [Ah].
your 6S1P will have 25.2V like you said. but still only 3Ah.

if your motor uses 5A @ 25.2V, then your battery will last 24minutes.
it's often easier to expand with more in parallel #P, because the voltage #S will be kind of fixed with your chosen motors.

you know i'm a good battery builder when I get S and P mixed up.

how many more cells do you think I should add in parallel? i still need to maintain that voltage. i was thinking maybe a few hours at 2 amps (motor max pulls 4, 5 added with the electronics and lighting)
6s4p sounds good.
@fire_ned the bms and balancer should work with that config right?

no problem. I'm wrong too xD it's not 24min but 36min.
calculation under full load will always end up being a short time.

perhaps base it on what others use.
4x4 has a total of 12 cells.
icecream has 6S 8Ah. Tooster 3S 5Ah.

i calculated and at 50% motor power it seems good.

6S 4P would get you 6S 14Ah.
will probably weight over 2kg/4lbs?

yes 100%. at half speed it still provided good battery life.

such a battery will probably give you 4-6h of constant driving and idle runtime of 80h.

how are you even going to drive 4h+ without any other problems xD

i don't know lol, if i can get that long runtime with like 2 more cells for $10 might as well.

2 cells?
6S4P is a total of 24 cells

if i were to add 2 more parallel cells
which would bump it to 4p

servo motors stay on and spin in opposite directions when forward is hit...very confused.Any help out there?
Can servo motors be directly hooked up to the raspberry pi gpios or is a driver needed?

@dino6344 I can help you
Yes servomotor signal pin can be directly hooked up to the raspberry pi gpios.
By default gpio 5 and 6 are the one used to move pan and tilt servo for the head of your robot.
I need to know what kind of hardware you are using and how it is connected on your robot in order to help you.
You can drive à lot of things on vigibot you just need to know how to configure the interface. Here is a message explaining how to configure a lot of things for " advanced users " https://www.robot-ma...ds/#entry115626 but don't worry if you are new to this we will completely help you.

anyone got any ideas on how to keep a robot's electronics compartment cool while keeping it somewhat water tight and keeping debris out? (context: outdoor robot, it gets like 90 degrees Fahrenheit here)
